Investment Companies Union participates for the first time in 'Wazifati' exhibition to empower Kuwaiti youth in the investment sector

The Investment Companies Association is participating for the first time in the National Employment Exhibition “Wazifati 5,” held from October 15 to 17, 2026, at The Arena – Grand Hyatt Hotel, under the patronage and presence of His Excellency Dr. Tariq Hamad Al-Jalahma, Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs. The exhibition features more than 120 companies from 14 sectors and attracts over 30,000 visitors, including job seekers, graduates, and students.

The Association’s participation comes within a joint pavilion alongside four of its member companies: Kuwait Clearing Company, Kufpec Investment Company, Al-Safwa Investment Company, and Al-Awala Investment Company.

On this occasion, Waleed Khaled Al-Saqqaf, Executive Director of Communications and Corporate Relations at the Investment Companies Association, stated: “Our inaugural participation in ‘Wazifati’ sends a clear message that the Kuwaiti investment sector is present and cohesive. Given current circumstances, it is crucial that we be on the ground to affirm the sector’s resilience, its capacity for continuity and growth, and its ability to attract national talent.”

He added: “Empowering Kuwaiti youth is a priority for us. We aim to open the doors of the investment sector to them, introduce them to the opportunities available, and equip them with the tools they need to enter the field with confidence.”

During the exhibition, the Association will offer a package of training opportunities for young graduates, including free courses and discounts on specialized training programs that enhance their resumes. These include mandatory courses for working in the sector, such as the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism course.

Al-Saqqaf clarified: “Professional certifications and mandatory courses make a real difference in a candidate’s profile. When a graduate enters the job market with these qualifications, they are better prepared and more competitive, increasing their chances of securing a position in investment companies.”

He concluded: “We look forward to meeting young people at the Association’s pavilion and hope that this participation marks the beginning of a permanent presence at ‘Wazifati’ and a continuous partnership with entities involved in employing national talent in the private sector.”

The Association’s participation in “Wazifati 5” extends its ongoing efforts to support and qualify national talent, strengthen engagement with youth, and raise awareness of career opportunities in the investment sector. It is part of a series of activities and initiatives in which the Association participates throughout October, reflecting its commitment to expanding its community and awareness-raising outreach.

The Association is also participating in the “Bell” financial literacy campaign launched by the Kuwait Bourse during the “Global Investor Week” events, which are organized annually by the committee stemming from the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). The campaign aims to enhance financial literacy and raise awareness of the importance of investor education and protection. The Association’s participation includes organizing several workshops and awareness-raising discussion panels, furthering its efforts to promote financial and investment awareness, develop skills, and bring the investment sector closer to various segments of society, particularly youth and graduates.
