The Ministry of Health organized today, Saturday, the Third Kuwait Conference on Cardiometabolic Diseases, dedicated to fostering communication and exchanging expertise on cardiometabolic conditions in Kuwait.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Khaled Al-Mulla, a cardiologist and head of the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Heart Center at Al-Amiri Hospital, stated that the conference brings together a select group of healthcare specialists, researchers, policymakers, and sector leaders united by a common goal: improving the prevention and management of cardiometabolic diseases.

Dr. Al-Mulla noted that cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and metabolic disorders continue to impose a significant burden on society.

He added that Kuwait and the Gulf region face unique challenges, including rapid changes in lifestyle patterns, an aging population, and rising rates of diabetes and obesity. However, these challenges also open avenues for innovation, collaboration, and leadership.

He explained that the conference’s activities highlight the latest advancements in prevention, diagnosis, digital health, precision medicine, and patient care based on a multidisciplinary approach. He emphasized that the event represents an opportunity to build productive professional relationships, exchange knowledge and expertise, and forge new partnerships that can accelerate progress and improve health outcomes across the region.
