Head of Civil Aviation Authority: New headquarters of Arab Civil Aviation Organization is a crucial step to enhance performance and develop joint Arab efforts

Kuwait’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Chairman, Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said on Friday that the construction project of the new headquarters of the Arab Organization for Civil Aviation (AOCA) in the Moroccan capital represents an important step toward enhancing the organization’s capacities and developing its institutional performance, thereby supporting its efforts to elevate the civil aviation sector and strengthen cooperation and coordination among Arab states.

This statement was made by Sheikh Hamoud Al-Jaber in an interview with the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following his participation in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new headquarters in Rabat, attended by Moroccan Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdessamad Qiyuh, Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Samah Al-Hafni, who chairs the current session of the organization’s General Assembly, heads of civil aviation authorities in member Arab states, and several senior officials and representatives of member countries.

Sheikh Hamoud Al-Jaber explained that the new headquarters will provide a modern working environment and organizational and technical capabilities that contribute to improving the organization’s performance efficiency, enabling it to carry out its duties more effectively and keep pace with the rapid developments witnessed by the civil aviation sector at both the regional and international levels.

He praised the efforts made by Morocco in supporting the organization, commending its initiative to bear the costs of constructing the new headquarters, which reflects its commitment to supporting joint Arab institutions and providing the necessary foundations to enhance their role and achieve their objectives.

He reaffirmed Kuwait’s steadfast commitment to continuing its support for the organization’s activities and its active participation in its programs and initiatives, emphasizing the importance of unifying Arab efforts, exchanging expertise, and developing national competencies to enhance the safety and efficiency of the civil aviation system in Arab countries.

The Arab Organization for Civil Aviation is headquartered in Rabat, the Moroccan capital, and plays a role in strengthening cooperation and coordination among member states and developing the Arab civil aviation sector.
