Ambassador Al-Hajri Presents Credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Head of Protocol at Japan's Foreign Ministry

Kuwait’s Ambassador to Japan, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hajjri, presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to Japan during a meeting yesterday, Wednesday, with the Chief of Protocol at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Keiichi Hara, at the ministry’s headquarters in the capital, Tokyo.

In a statement received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday, the Kuwaiti Embassy in Japan said that Ambassador Al-Hajjri emphasized the depth of Kuwaiti-Japanese relations during the meeting.

Al-Hajjri noted that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which witnessed a qualitative leap by rising to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership during the historic visit of His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah (may God protect him), to Japan in May 2025.

He also referred to the recent visit of Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, to Japan last August, and the clear objectives that emerged from it to enhance bilateral cooperation, affirming his commitment to continuing work with the Japanese side to translate these directions into practical steps across various fields.

For his part, Ambassador Hara welcomed Ambassador Al-Hajjri, praising his diplomatic expertise and affirming that, for Japan, Kuwait represents a reliable partner and friend, not merely a key energy supplier.

The statement conveyed Ambassador Hara’s aspiration to continue strengthening bilateral relations and increasing the frequency of high-level visits and communications between the two countries.
