Arab Open University – Kuwait Secures Second Place Regionally in Cybersecurity

The Arab Open University – State of Kuwait has achieved a new milestone in the fields of technology and cybersecurity, after student Ayman Nadim from the College of Computer Studies secured second place in the cybersecurity track – university category, at the Arab AI Olympiad held in Alexandria, Arab Republic of Egypt.

Student Ayman Nadim represented the Arab Open University and the State of Kuwait in the Olympiad, which saw participation from numerous universities and students from various Arab countries. Her achievement of second place in the cybersecurity competition reflects the outstanding level of the College of Computer Studies students and their ability to compete at Arab technical forums.

This achievement underscores the Arab Open University’s commitment to developing its students’ skills in technology, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, and encouraging their participation in scientific competitions and events that enhance their academic and practical capabilities, while preparing them for labor market demands and rapid digital transformations.

On this occasion, Dr. Isa Al-Harbi, Dean of the College of Computer Studies, expressed his pride and appreciation for this achievement, emphasizing that the student’s second-place finish at the Arab level is the result of the college’s efforts to support its students and motivate them to excel and participate in specialized competitions.

Dr. Al-Harbi stated that this recognition is a source of pride for the Arab Open University and the College of Computer Studies, confirming that university students possess the scientific and technical competencies that qualify them to compete and achieve top positions at Arab and international forums. He also praised the student’s performance during the competition, highlighting the skills and capabilities she demonstrated in cybersecurity.

Dr. Al-Harbi also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to University President Dr. Salah Al-Humaidi and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research Dr. Afnan Al-Khalidi for their continuous support of the College of Computer Studies students, their dedication to mobilizing all resources and removing obstacles for students, and providing an academic environment conducive to creativity, innovation, and excellence.

He affirmed that this institutional support is a key factor in empowering students to develop their capabilities, actively participate in scientific and technical competitions, and achieve accomplishments that reflect the level of education and training provided by the university.
