The Ministry of Interior stressed on Sunday the responsibility of delivery companies to educate their drivers about traffic violations and monitor their compliance with traffic rules, in order to safeguard their safety and that of other road users, thereby protecting lives and property.
This came in a statement following a meeting held by the Head of the Traffic and Operations Sector, Brigadier General Haqqi Ahmed Al-Azmi, with representatives of delivery companies, in accordance with directives from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah, aimed at enhancing adherence to traffic regulations and raising awareness among drivers of delivery vehicles and motorcycles.
The ministry noted that traffic violations committed by some delivery drivers have been recorded, and emphasized that the law will be applied against violators, with measures to confiscate motorcycles or vehicles for a period of two months.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the General Directorate of Traffic, Brigadier General Rashid Al-Hajjar, and several senior officials from the directorate.
