Kuwait Municipality confirmed today, Sunday, the continuation of its field inspection campaigns under the “Build, Don’t Destroy” initiative, which monitors violations of the safety regulations across the six governorates to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, systems, and permits.
Mohammed Al-Azmi, head of the safety inspection team in the Ahmadi Governorate, told reporters on the sidelines of the team’s inspection in the Fintas area that the municipality periodically monitors compliance with safety requirements at construction sites to encourage project owners and contractors to adhere to them.
Al-Azmi added that the municipality is keen to enforce safety conditions to protect the lives of workers and residents in those areas, and therefore stresses the proper disposal of rubble in designated containers and the timely cleaning of construction sites.
He noted that the inspection team issued four warnings today during its field campaign for leaving rubble in front of several homes, which obstructed traffic, as well as for failing to maintain the cleanliness of roads and public facilities.
Al-Azmi stated that the “Build, Don’t Destroy” campaign is part of Kuwait Municipality’s efforts to strengthen oversight, curb violations, and foster a culture of preserving the environment and public property.
He called on plot owners and those constructing homes to follow the official accounts of Kuwait Municipality to benefit from awareness messages and guidelines that will be published regularly, and to contact the municipality to inquire about any regulatory requirements, thereby facilitating their procedures and ensuring compliance with systems and regulations.
