The Director of the Meteorology Department, Essam Al-Ali, said on Saturday that the country is currently experiencing humid weather with a chance of scattered light rain, occasionally thunderstorms, and possible fog formation in the evening, a condition expected to last until Sunday morning.
Al-Ali explained in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is being affected by an extension of a moist low-pressure system, coinciding with a low-pressure system in the upper atmospheric layers. This is leading to an increase in low and mid-level clouds, accompanied by scattered light rain that may occasionally be thunderous.
He added that winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate in speed, with a chance of fog forming in the evening and early morning, reducing visibility to below 1,000 meters in some areas until Sunday morning.
Al-Ali predicted that visibility will gradually improve during the early morning hours, and he warned citizens and residents to follow the weather bulletin through the official website and app of the Meteorology Department, as well as its social media accounts, to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
