Public Works: Inauguration of Phase One of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Road (Formerly Al-Abdali) Development

Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works, Kifaya Al-Najdi, inaugurated the first phase of the development project for Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Street (formerly known as Al-Abdali Street), in the presence of Al-Jahra Governor Hamad Al-Habashi.

In a press statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Public Works said the road is one of the vital arteries connecting Al-Jahra Governorate with the northern regions, serving traffic flow to the Al-Abdali area, farms, and border crossings. It also highlighted the road’s importance for land travel and freight transport, underscoring the service and economic significance of its development.

The ministry noted that the development works contribute to enhancing the road’s efficiency, improving traffic flow, and strengthening safety for users, while facilitating access to the areas it serves, keeping pace with urban expansion needs, and accommodating the growing volume of vehicles.

It added that the inauguration of the first phase of the project is the result of efforts by the Ministry of Public Works and relevant authorities, under the follow-up of the Al-Jahra Governorate Council, within the framework of joint coordination to advance road and infrastructure projects and improve the level of services provided to residents and road users.
