Deputy Minister of Interior Discusses Enhancing Cooperation and Sharing Expertise in Managing Correctional Facilities with Italian Official

Kuwait’s Undersecretary of State for Interior Affairs, Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahab, held talks today, Wednesday, with an Italian security official to explore ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the management of correctional institutions and the rehabilitation of inmates.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that Major General Al-Wahab met with Stefano Di Michele, the Chief of the Italian Prison Administration, along with the official delegation accompanying him and several other officials, in the presence of Kuwait’s Ambassador to Italy, Nasser Al-Qahtani.
During his visit to Rebibbia Prison in Rome, where the meeting took place, the Undersecretary reviewed operational mechanisms, organizational and security procedures, as well as the latest systems and technologies employed, and the programs and practices adopted for inmate rehabilitation and reform, aiming to improve the efficiency of the operational system.
The Undersecretary and the accompanying delegation conducted a field tour inside the prison, during which they observed programs for inmate rehabilitation and social reintegration, operational management mechanisms within the facility, and the role of modern technologies in supporting the operational system and enhancing readiness levels.
According to the statement, the meeting was part of the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise with relevant Italian authorities, and benefiting from modern practices in inmate rehabilitation and reform, thereby contributing to the development of the operational system, enhancing staff efficiency, and strengthening institutional capacities.
The Undersecretary of State for Interior Affairs and the accompanying delegation arrived in the Italian capital, Rome, yesterday evening, on an official visit as part of a program aimed at enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in several areas of security work.
