Electricity Ministry: Routine maintenance of the power grid begins tomorrow

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced that it will begin routine maintenance work on the electrical networks starting tomorrow, Thursday, as part of its annual plan to enhance system efficiency, bolster readiness for the upcoming summer season, and reduce emergency outages.

Spokesperson for the ministry, Engineer Fatima Jawhar Hayat, stated in a press statement that the maintenance works cover components of the transmission and distribution networks, starting from main substations, passing through overhead lines and underground cables, and ending at secondary substations.

She clarified that these works may result in temporary power outages in parts of certain areas, according to schedules that will be announced via the ministry’s official accounts on social media platforms. She emphasized that the work is carried out under an organized program ensuring swift completion of tasks.

Hayat added that the ministry will notify affected customers about the maintenance works through the government “Sahel” application, using data registered with the Public Authority for Civil Information. A direct link will also be provided via the ministry’s social media accounts to monitor the status and stages of maintenance upon commencement or completion.

Hayat affirmed that these efforts are part of a continuous plan to improve the quality of services provided, expressing appreciation to citizens and residents for their cooperation and understanding of the importance of these works.
