Interior Ministry: 12 Suspects Arrested in 8 Cases for Possessing Narcotics and Psychoactive Substances with Intent to Traffic and Use

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday the arrest of 12 suspects in eight separate cases, during which they were found in possession of narcotics and psychoactive substances intended for trafficking and personal use, as well as alcoholic beverages, a firearm, ammunition, and cash.

In a press statement, the Ministry of Interior said these seizures were part of the efforts undertaken by the International Counter-Narcotics Department, the Local Counter-Narcotics Department, and the Intelligence Department to combat the trafficking of narcotics and psychoactive substances and to apprehend those involved.

It clarified that the operations resulted in the seizure of quantities of Lyrica, hashish, methamphetamine, liquids and leaves saturated with “chemical” (a synthetic cannabinoid), hashish oil, psychoactive tablets, alongside bottles of locally produced alcoholic beverages, sensitive scales, a firearm, a quantity of ammunition, and a sum of money representing proceeds from sales.
