Deputy Emir and Prime Minister Receives the CEO of GE Vernova

His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, received today Mr. Scott Strazik, Chief Executive Officer of GE Vernova, the global energy company, and his accompanying delegation, at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York City, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting reviewed existing cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the global company, as well as ways to enhance the partnership in areas such as developing energy projects and improving the efficiency of power generation plants. The discussion also covered the latest developments at the GE Technology Center in Kuwait, which celebrated its tenth anniversary last year, with an emphasis on the importance of human capital development and investment in national competencies through knowledge transfer and capacity building, thereby contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy and supporting the achievement of the objectives of Kuwait Vision.

Attending the meeting were H.E. Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority; H.E. Ambassador Mansour Ayad Al-Otaibi; H.E. Ambassador Tariq Al-Banna, Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations; and Major General Ahmed Al-Duaiji, Director of the Crown Prince’s Office.
