Crown Prince, Representative of His Highness the Amir, Receives NATO Secretary-General in New York

His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince, received today His Excellency Mr. Mark Rutte, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and his accompanying delegation. The meeting took place at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the frameworks of the distinguished partnership and cooperation between the State of Kuwait and NATO were reviewed within the context of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative. The discussion also covered the follow-up on training and technical cooperation programs through the NATO Regional Center in Kuwait, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern and efforts to enhance international security and stability.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Jeraf Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mishal Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority; His Excellency Ambassador Mansour Ayyad Al-Otaibi; His Excellency Ambassador Sadiq Mohammed Maarefi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations Affairs; His Excellency Ambassador Tariq Mohammed Al-Bunai, Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations; and His Excellency Minister Plenipotentiary Abdullah Nasser Al-Obaidi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Minister’s Office Affairs.
