Deputy Minister of Interior: Necessity of cooperation with Iraq on information exchange and directing security media statements

Abd al-Wahab Al-Wahib, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, emphasized the necessity of exchanging information and monitoring, analyzing, and directing security-related media statements between the State of Kuwait and the sister Republic of Iraq, in order to curb rumors and ensure cooperation between the two countries.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release on Thursday that this came during Al-Wahib’s reception of Saad Maan, Major General and Head of Iraq’s Security Media Cell, and his accompanying delegation. Al-Wahib highlighted the importance of strengthening security media communication channels, developing joint cooperation, transferring security expertise, and curbing organized crime.

He conveyed the greetings of Fahd Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to Major General Maan, affirming the depth of the fraternal relations binding the State of Kuwait and the sister Republic of Iraq, and the importance of enhancing frameworks of cooperation and joint coordination to serve the common interests of the two sister countries.

For his part, Major General Maan expressed, according to the statement, his gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception, praising the depth of the fraternal relations linking the two sister countries and noting the commitment to continue strengthening cooperation and joint coordination.

Attending the reception were Majid Al-Rashidi, Major General and Head of the Land Border Security and Coast Guard Sector; Khalid Al-Taraji, Colonel and Director General of the Undersecretary’s Office; Nasser Al-Buslub, Colonel and Director General of the Security Media and Public Relations Department; and a number of security officials from both sides.
