Washington invited Putin to attend the G20 summit in December

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Wednesday that the United States has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the Group of Twenty (G20) summit scheduled to be held in Miami in December.

Rubio stated, “In order to solve problems, we must meet with those with whom we disagree or with whom we may have differences. Therefore, we have invited President Putin to the G20.” He added, “We believe this is an opportunity for him to engage not only with President Donald Trump, but also with other world leaders. We hope he will accept this invitation.”
