Deputy Minister of Education Participates in the Gulf Preparatory Meeting of Deputy Ministers of Education from GCC Countries

Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Khaled Al-Rashid participated in a preparatory meeting of the deputy ministers of education from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries for the tenth meeting of the GCC Ministers of Education Council, to discuss several items on the agenda.

The Ministry of Education stated in a statement on Monday that the meeting, held remotely, was chaired by Nawal Al-Khatir, Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain and President of the current session, with the participation of deputy ministers of education and higher education from the GCC countries, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the GCC Secretariat General Khaled Al-Sanadi, and Director General of the Arab Educational Bureau for the Gulf Countries Dr. Muhammad Al-Muqbil.

It added that the agenda included Kuwait’s initiative to unify the education system in GCC countries and its initiative regarding the GCC School Sports League, as well as the quiz program for Gulf students.

It noted that the meeting also discussed the GCC strategy to combat drugs, Kuwait’s initiative on student and teacher exchange for gifted students and outstanding teachers, the strategic transformation in general education, and several other topics related to enhancing cooperation and joint coordination among the education ministries of the GCC countries. It added that the meeting also addressed several joint GCC educational files, most notably the development of the Arab Educational Bureau for the Gulf Countries, the GCC Education Strategy for the period 2026–2030, and discussions on topics related to technical and vocational education and training, planning, coordination, and follow-up.

It pointed out that the participants also discussed updates on the implementation of the fourth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals related to education, as well as topics concerning scouting and guiding, instilling financial literacy among students, international cooperation, and joint procurement of educational materials, systems, and equipment.
