GCC condemns in the strongest terms the Houthi terrorist attacks against southern Saudi Arabia

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, today, Tuesday, strongly and most severely condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against southern Saudi Arabia, as well as their deliberate targeting of civilians, the Kingdom’s national assets, and civilian infrastructure and properties. These attacks resulted in casualties among civilians, representing a blatant violation of all international laws and norms, a deliberate disregard for the safety and security of civilians, and a threat to regional stability.

In a statement, Al-Budaiwi emphasized that these repeated attacks once again reveal the malicious intentions of the Houthi militia and demonstrate their explicit rejection of all efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving peace and stability in the sisterly Republic of Yemen.

He stressed that targeting civilian infrastructure and national assets constitutes a condemnable act of terrorism that cannot be justified or tolerated under any pretext. He further noted that the Houthi militia’s continuation of these hostile practices constitutes a blatant challenge to the international community and a direct threat to regional and international peace and security. He underscored the necessity for the international community to adopt a firm and deterrent stance against these violations, hold perpetrators and their supporters accountable, and prevent the continuation of this terrorist behavior that threatens the security of the region and the interests of its peoples.

The Secretary-General reiterated the GCC states’ unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, standing united alongside the Kingdom in confronting any threats to its security, stability, sovereignty, and national assets, and supporting all measures and steps taken by the Kingdom to protect its territory.
