Municipality: Adherence to construction, demolition, and restoration regulations in accordance with the safety code is essential to achieve a safe environment
The Kuwait Municipality has renewed its call on citizens to strictly adhere to the regulations governing construction, demolition, restoration, and the disposal of rubble in designated sites, in accordance with the safety code requirements to ensure a clean and safe environment.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday, the municipality warned against dumping rubble and construction waste in squares and roads, emphasizing that safety teams across the six governorates are monitoring compliance with these requirements on a daily basis.
It also highlighted the launch of a series of awareness messages on its social media accounts under the slogan “Build, Don’t Destroy,” directed at plot and property owners, urging them not to dump rubble and construction debris in front of their properties.
The municipality stressed that it will not tolerate violations of municipal regulations, which mandate that property owners remove rubble and debris from their premises and avoid piling them up in front of their properties, to prevent facing violations and fines.
It reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling its role with full effort to ensure the enforcement of municipal regulations and systems, the removal of unidentified waste, and the submission of reports and violation notices against offenders.
The municipality stated that field teams conduct daily patrols to identify non-compliant plots and homes. Their role involves monitoring construction activities to ensure the safety of neighboring properties and verifying that measures are in place to protect human lives.
It called on owners of plots and homes under construction to follow the official Kuwait Municipality accounts to benefit from awareness messages and guidelines that will be published sequentially, and to contact the municipality to inquire about any regulatory requirements, thereby facilitating their procedures and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
