Indonesia suspends flights at six airports following volcanic eruption

Indonesian authorities suspended flights at six airports following the eruption of Anak Krakatau, the Ministry of Transport announced on Sunday.

Transport Minister Dudung Burhanuddin said at a press conference, “There were indications that Husein Sastranegara Airport was affected. Therefore, we announced the suspension of flights there,” referring to the last airport covered by the decision.

Among the airports where flights were suspended was Indonesia’s largest, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, located in the capital, Jakarta.
