Minister of Awqaf reaffirms Kuwait's commitment to entrenching values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among different religions

Kuwait’s Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Osaimi, affirmed on Thursday the state’s commitment to entrenching the values of tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among different religions.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs stated in a press release that this position was expressed during the minister’s meeting with Fr. Suleiman Haifawi, the official spokesperson for the Catholic Church in Kuwait, during which they exchanged views on several topics of mutual interest.
The statement added that the meeting addressed the importance of strengthening a culture of dialogue and understanding, and rejecting fanaticism, thereby contributing to the support of social peace and the entrenchment of values of love, cooperation, and coexistence, within the framework of Kuwait’s commitment to respecting freedom of belief and the practice of religious rituals in accordance with applicable regulations and laws.
The statement quoted Minister Al-Osaimi as saying that these principles represent a firmly established approach in Kuwaiti society, reflecting its moderation, harmony, and respect for its diverse components.
