Minister of Education Approves Update of the Educational Calendar to Align with Educational Developments

Kuwait’s Minister of Education, Sayyid Jalal al-Tabatabai, approved today, Wednesday, the update of the educational calendar for the academic years 2026–2027, 2027–2028, 2028–2029, and 2029–2030. The update applies to general education schools, religious education schools, adult education and literacy programs, special education schools, and private Arabic schools, in line with recent educational developments and to enhance the readiness of the educational sector.
In a press release, the Ministry of Education stated that the new amendments are part of ongoing efforts to update and organize the educational calendar, ensuring alignment with recent changes to educational regulations and systems. This aims to clarify deadlines and obligations for school administrations, teaching staff, parents, and students.
The ministry clarified that the amendments include adding examination dates for the fourth and fifth grades, in accordance with recent approvals under the new comprehensive regulatory framework for education. This move seeks to unify and streamline assessment and examination procedures, thereby enhancing the smooth flow of the educational process throughout the academic year.
The ministry emphasized that updating the educational calendar is part of its efforts to align academic schedules and deadlines with new regulatory requirements, enabling schools to prepare early for various stages of the academic year and associated educational milestones.
The ministry added that the update provides a clear timeline for the upcoming academic years, supporting advance planning by school administrations and educational staff, promoting stability in the educational process, and offering students and parents a clearer picture of academic schedules and examination dates.
The ministry called on relevant parties in the educational sector to adhere to the new calendar and implement the amendments according to the approved schedules and deadlines, ensuring the smooth operation of the educational process and achieving the desired regulatory objectives.
