Royal Court: King of Norway's condition deteriorates while hospitalized

The Norwegian Royal Palace announced in a statement on Sunday that the health of King Harald (89) deteriorated at the beginning of this week while he was in the hospital.

Harald, the current oldest head of state in Europe, was admitted to the hospital on Monday and received treatment for anemia.

The Palace stated, “His Majesty’s health deteriorated at the beginning of this week. The King is receiving antibiotics to treat a bacterial blood infection and has responded to this treatment,” adding that his condition is currently stable.
