US says China "arbitrarily detains" American citizen

The United States announced on Thursday that an American citizen detained in China on espionage charges is being held “arbitrarily,” and called for his release along with another American citizen.
Political analyst Min Htin, who works at a research center specializing in Myanmar affairs, was arrested in China on June 3.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Dylan Johnson said, “Secretary of State Marco Rubio has concluded that American citizen Min Htin is being arbitrarily detained in China. There are now two American citizens being arbitrarily detained in China: Mr. Htin and Dr. Yulin Chen.”
