Minister of Youth and Sports: Youth are a fundamental element in the development process and in shaping the future

Kuwait’s Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, emphasized in Manama on Saturday the importance of continuing to exchange expertise and experiences with the Kingdom of Bahrain, in a manner that contributes to developing youth work and enhancing opportunities available to young people, who are a fundamental element in the development process and in shaping the future.

This statement was made by Minister Al-Jalahma in an interview with the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of his visit to Manama, in response to an invitation from Bahrain’s Minister of Youth Affairs, Rawan Tawfiq. He added that “the visit represents an important opportunity to closely examine Bahrain’s experience in youth work and to benefit from the distinctive programs and initiatives it offers.”

He stressed that the exchange of expertise and experiences between the two brotherly countries constitutes a cornerstone for developing youth work and elevating programs targeted at young people, in a way that aligns with their aspirations and strengthens their role in building a sustainable future.

Minister Al-Jalahma expressed his appreciation for the distinguished youth programs and experiences he observed in the Kingdom of Bahrain, commending the supportive environment provided by youth institutions and centers for nurturing young people’s talents and developing their skills and capabilities.

For her part, Bahrain’s Minister of Youth Affairs praised in a press statement the depth of Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations, which are based on solid fraternal and historical ties, highlighting the role of young people from both brotherly countries in strengthening and consolidating these relations for future generations.

She affirmed the importance of continuing to enhance cooperation and exchange successful experiences between officials and youth entities in the two brotherly countries.

During his visit to the Model Muharraq Youth Center, accompanied by Minister Tawfiq, Minister Al-Jalahma sought to learn about Bahrain’s experience in youth work and to enhance the exchange of expertise and successful experiences between the two brotherly countries.

The visit included an inspection of the center’s facilities, which include spaces dedicated to young people and provide a suitable environment for practicing activities and implementing youth programs and initiatives.

The tour also included a visit to “Al-Manara Space” for art and culture within the center, to learn about its role as an interactive youth space that hosts ideas, talents, and initiatives, and provides young people with opportunities for learning, networking, and participation.

The role and efforts of the Ministry of Youth Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain were presented, along with the programs and initiatives it offers aimed at empowering young people, developing their skills and capabilities, and providing a supportive environment for their participation and creativity. Additionally, several distinctive youth experiences and initiatives were showcased, and an introductory meeting was held with the heads of several youth bodies to learn about their roles, jurisdictions, and the main programs and initiatives they offer to young people, as well as the spaces and opportunities they provide to enhance their participation in various fields.
