"Talent and Creativity" Concludes Preparatory Program and University Scientific Majors Orientation for 2026 High School Students

The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity (a center under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences) has concluded the PRE 2026 program, designed to prepare high school students for university and help them explore scientific academic majors.

The center stated that the program, held from August 2 to 13 in collaboration with Kuwait University and involving more than 65 students from grades 10 to 12, aimed to help students discover university majors and choose academic paths that align with their interests and abilities. This was achieved through an educational experience combining academic, practical, and field-based components.

Emphasizing the program’s importance, the center noted it was held under the patronage of Kuwait University President Dr. Dina Al-Milhim. The initiative introduced participating students to university life and academic majors in medicine, engineering, and petroleum through scientific and practical experiences. These activities contributed to developing their skills, providing close-up insights into the nature of these fields, and supporting their future academic and career directions.

The program offered a comprehensive experience that integrated specialized lectures, practical workshops, hands-on experiments, field visits, and direct interaction with academics and specialists.

Students participated in activities that allowed them to closely examine the nature of university studies, the requirements of various majors, educational opportunities, scholarships, and labor market prospects, thereby enhancing their readiness for university life.

The medical track included experiences such as studying epidemiology, writing scientific research, training in anatomy labs, workshops on using medical equipment, handling emergency cases, and visits to medical libraries and hospitals.

Additionally, the medical track featured training in laparoscopic surgery, simulation-based surgery, laboratory demonstrations, and meetings with practicing physicians, giving students practical exposure to the nature of study and practice in the medical field.

The engineering track included lectures and experiments in architecture, engineering competitions, artistic experiments, and field visits to the Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil and Gas Exhibition and the Science Center. It also featured practical activities in 3D printing, which strengthened students’ practical skills and linked engineering concepts to real-world applications.

The program is part of the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity’s mission to offer specialized programs that develop students’ capabilities, enhance their knowledge and practical skills, support critical thinking and problem-solving, and help them discover their academic interests.
