Trump: White House Press Secretary Levitt to leave post at end of this month

US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will step down at the end of the month to spend more time with her family.
Leavitt said in a post on the X platform, “Serving as White House Press Secretary over the past year and a half has been an honor and the adventure of a lifetime.”
Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, “Karoline will now become one of the top external advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy history and secure a decisive victory in the midterm elections.”
Leavitt joined Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and served as spokesperson for the transition team before Trump selected her to be White House Press Secretary, making her the youngest person ever appointed to the position.
