Interior Ministry: State Security Apparatus Foils Terrorist Plot to Target a Key Facility in the Country

The Ministry of Interior announced that the State Security Apparatus thwarted a terrorist plot targeting a critical national facility and arrested a Kuwaiti national who had joined the ISIS terrorist organization prior to executing his plan, following precise surveillance and security monitoring.
In a press statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Interior said that investigations revealed the suspect had received training in the manufacture of explosives and drones, and had built a drone for use in carrying out his terrorist plot to target a critical facility. It added that the necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent authorities to complete investigations and take appropriate action in accordance with the law.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed that its security agencies continue their proactive efforts to monitor and counter any activities or plots that could threaten the country’s security and stability, emphasizing that it will not tolerate anyone attempting to undermine national security or the safety of citizens and residents, and will deal firmly with any suspicious activities in accordance with legal provisions.
