GCC Secretary-General condemns Colombia’s recognition of Israeli occupation’s sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Bedaiwi, expressed his strongest condemnation on Tuesday of the Colombian government’s recognition of Israeli occupation forces’ sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

In a press statement, Al-Bedaiwi said this recognition violates all international laws and treaties that affirm the Golan Heights is Syrian Arab land occupied by Israel.

He reiterated that any decisions and recognitions that do not align with the reality and truth established by international and UN resolutions are unacceptable and undermine peace and security efforts in the region.

He called on the Colombian government to withdraw this invalid recognition, emphasizing the necessity for Israel to comply with international legal resolutions by withdrawing from all occupied Arab territories, including the Golan Heights.

Al-Bedaiwi reaffirmed the GCC states’ firm and supportive stance toward the Syrian Arab Republic, standing by its side to safeguard its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, including the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, and its firm rejection of any measures or violations that could undermine Syria’s sovereignty or diminish its territorial unity.
