China calls for restraint and continued resolution of differences through dialogue to restore peace in the region

China called on all relevant parties on Friday to exercise restraint and continue to resolve differences through dialogue and consultation, contributing to the restoration of peace and stability in the Gulf region as soon as possible, while reiterating its rejection of any attacks targeting innocent civilians and non-military facilities.

This statement was made by Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press conference commenting on the attack on a building housing a Chinese company in northern Kuwait yesterday, which resulted in the death of one worker and significant material damage.

Xinhua News Agency quoted Mao as saying that the Chinese Embassy had contacted the relevant Kuwaiti authorities following the attack on the building, emphasizing that “no Chinese citizens were targeted.”
