UEFA to hold emergency meeting on Wednesday to discuss new FIFA project

UEFA officials will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday to discuss FIFA’s proposal to open the door to private-sector investors by establishing a commercial company, according to French Sports Minister Marina Ferrari.

Ferrari wrote on the X platform, “I wish to inform you of the emergency meeting organized by European football bodies on Wednesday. In the face of a project that could profoundly alter the existing balance in our sport, it is essential that European stakeholders speak with one voice.”

UEFA had previously announced its opposition to the proposal on Tuesday, describing it as “a line that football’s governing institutions should never cross.”
