Indian Education Minister Announces Resignation Amid Student Protests

Indian Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation on Saturday, on the sixth day of student protests demanding his removal from office over a series of practices related to university examinations.

The minister wrote on his X account, “Given the emerging situation in Jantar Mantar (the square in New Delhi where protesters have been gathering since Monday) and across the country… I have decided to submit my letter of resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
