European Union Approves New Package of Sanctions Against Russia

EU countries announced on Thursday an agreement on a new package of sanctions against Russia over the war in Ukraine, following weeks of negotiations, according to diplomats.

This package, the 21st imposed by the European Union since Russia’s invasion in 2022, had been delayed due to objections from several member states over various proposed provisions.
