Amman, Nov 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Chairman of the Board of Directors Khaled Al-Mughamsi reaffirmed the society’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) in implementing relief programs and projects, and in developing coordination mechanisms to facilitate the delivery of aid to its intended beneficiaries, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

This was stated in an interview with the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday, following a visit by a KRCS delegation to the JHCO headquarters in Amman. The visit aimed to explore ways to enhance joint humanitarian and relief cooperation, thereby improving the efficiency of humanitarian response and ensuring that aid reaches the most vulnerable groups.

Al-Mughamsi praised the humanitarian role played by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in supporting relief efforts and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip. He clarified that the discussions covered existing areas of cooperation between the two sides, particularly regarding the reception, transfer, and follow-up of necessary procedures and arrangements to facilitate the delivery of Kuwaiti humanitarian aid to its beneficiaries amid the challenges facing relief operations.

He noted that the parties discussed possible mechanisms to utilize Kuwaiti aid that had previously been sent and remains with the JHCO, but has been unable to reach the Gaza Strip due to current circumstances and difficulties in entering aid into the Strip.

He added that the two sides also discussed several future humanitarian projects and initiatives, and the possibility of expanding cooperation to include relief and development programs that respond to growing needs and contribute to achieving sustainable humanitarian impact. He stressed the importance of continuing coordination, exchanging expertise, and leveraging the capacities available to both institutions to overcome obstacles facing relief operations and enhance the effectiveness of joint humanitarian work.

For his part, JHCO Secretary-General Dr. Hussein Al-Shabli, in a similar statement to KUNA, praised the pioneering humanitarian role played by the State of Kuwait and its charitable institutions in supporting peoples affected by crises and disasters.

Al-Shabli appreciated the existing partnership with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and the joint relief efforts it has yielded, emphasizing the importance of developing humanitarian initiatives and intensifying coordination between the two institutions to address growing humanitarian challenges, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

The KRCS delegation visiting the JHCO included the Chairman of the Board of Directors’ advisor, Dr. Mohammed Al-Mutairi, and the society’s financial director, Abdulrahman Al-Saleh, along with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Jordan, Sami Al-Zamanani. (End) S.L.M./K.A.H.
