Deputy Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, stated that the country is affected by active winds stirring up dust, with chances of scattered light to moderate rainfall, occasionally thunderstorms, starting from Saturday afternoon and continuing until Monday morning. Al-Ali told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is influenced by an extension of a moist surface low-pressure system, coinciding with a low-pressure system in the upper atmospheric layers, leading to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds and activity of southwesterly winds that stir up dust. He noted that horizontal visibility will drop to below 1,000 meters in some areas, and the winds will cause sea waves to rise to more than six feet. He clarified that cloud cover will gradually increase from Saturday afternoon, interspersed with cumulonimbus clouds accompanied by scattered rainfall, occasionally thunderstorms, with amounts ranging from light to moderate, and that gradual improvement in weather conditions will begin on Monday morning. Al-Ali stressed that asthma and allergy patients must wear masks when going out out of necessity, especially during thunderstorms and the high humidity characteristic of this season. He urged citizens and residents to closely follow weather bulletins through the official website and application of the Meteorology Department, as well as its social media accounts, to stay informed about the latest weather developments.
