Kuwait City -- The Maltese Minister of Housing and Lands, Owen Bonnici, affirmed on Friday the strength of the ties between his country and Kuwait, which are based on continuous cooperation, mutual respect, and shared understanding, and expressed his aspiration to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, housing, and the exchange of expertise. The Kuwaiti Embassy in Malta said in a statement, a copy of which was received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), that this came during a meeting between the Maltese minister and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Malta, Meshal Al-Mutairi, on Friday, as part of preparations for Bonnici’s upcoming official visit to Kuwait from November 8 to 11. Bonnici expressed his eagerness to visit Kuwait, emphasizing that it would constitute an important step toward establishing promising future cooperation that would benefit the peoples of the two friendly countries. For his part, Ambassador Al-Mutairi underscored the deep, well-established historical relations between the two countries, praising Malta and the late Maltese President Guido de Marco for their support of Kuwait during the Iraqi invasion in 1990. He noted that the anticipated visit by the Maltese Minister of Housing would contribute to strengthening and developing the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries across various fields, in a manner that serves the interests of the peoples of the two friendly nations.
