Moscow, Nov 4 (KUNA) -- Russia announced on Wednesday its participation in an official delegation at a meeting hosted by First Lady Melania Trump at the White House on Thursday to discuss developments related to the humanitarian file concerning the Russia-Ukraine war. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists that Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian President’s special envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, and Russian human rights commissioner Yana Lantratova, will represent Russia at the anticipated meeting. The White House announced on Tuesday that First Lady Melania Trump, on her own initiative, will bring together representatives of Russia and Ukraine at a meeting hosted on Thursday to enhance communication between the two sides on humanitarian issues related to the conflict. The First Lady’s office said in a statement that Melania Trump will make remarks regarding a ceasefire agreement in the city of Alushta and its surrounding area in Ukraine’s Kherson region, without disclosing further details about the meeting’s agenda. In this context, media reports indicated that the Ukrainian side will be represented by human rights commissioner Dmytro Lubinets and Davyd Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary bloc in the Ukrainian parliament. The meeting follows an agreement on a local ceasefire in Alushta and its surroundings to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid and enable the evacuation of civilians wishing to leave the area through a safe corridor.
