Translated by Qiyas from كونا — Original source
Islamabad, Nov 4 (KUNA) -- The Pakistani cabinet approved on Wednesday a defense cooperation agreement between Pakistan and the State of Kuwait, aimed at enhancing defense collaboration between the two friendly countries. The office of the Pakistani prime minister said in a statement that the approval came during a cabinet meeting held in the capital, Islamabad, and chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, noting that the agreement was reached on June 11, 2023. In a related context, Sharif affirmed during the meeting Pakistan’s continued sincere diplomatic efforts to establish peace and stability in the region and to reduce tensions, pointing out that regional disturbances are among the main causes of the rise in global oil prices. He added that Pakistan plays an active role in supporting peace-building efforts, highlighting the recent visit of a Pakistani delegation to Tehran, which included Army Chief of Staff General Asim Munir, and the talks held between senior officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Turkey. He clarified that the talks took place in a positive atmosphere and addressed ways to enhance coordination and mutual understanding in the region, in line with an agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
