Kuwait City, 3 Nov (KUNA) -- Kuwait Petroleum Chemicals Industries Company (KPCIC) announced that it has received the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) Middle East Award for 2026 in the category of Most Effective Strategy for Enhancing Supply Chain Resilience. The company noted that this award strengthens its distinguished trajectory and adds professional recognition from one of the world’s leading organizations specializing in business continuity and resilience.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Tuesday, the company said this achievement consolidates its position among global leading institutions in business continuity and resilience. It added that the win gains additional significance as it qualifies the company for the BCI Global Awards, following a notable achievement in 2025 when it won the regional award in the same category before subsequently being crowned with the BCI Global Award for 2025. This reflects the maturity of its institutional approach to treating business continuity as a permanent strategic priority.
The company emphasized that combining the regional and global awards in 2025 marks an important milestone in its journey, noting that “its practices have earned not only regional recognition but also global acknowledgment from the same specialized body.”
It clarified that this prior achievement gives the 2026 regional win an additional dimension, as it represents a continuation of a consistent path in developing a resilient supply chain system and linking business continuity with governance, sustainability, and long-term preparedness.
The company stressed that winning the regional award in 2026, following the prior global recognition in 2025, leaves no doubt that KPCIC’s experience has become an institutional model for transforming resilience from a precautionary measure into a permanent governance element within the business sustainability framework.
Among its efforts to enhance business sustainability and resilience, the company highlighted strengthening long-term inventories of critical materials and spare parts, reducing reliance on a single supplier, qualifying human resources involved in business continuity, and conducting detailed business impact analyses while aligning various departments with resilience requirements.
“These requirements have been incorporated into contractual frameworks, alternative suppliers have been approved, and periodic evaluation and audit mechanisms for suppliers have been implemented, thereby enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of supply chains,” it added.
The company pointed out that these efforts have yielded tangible operational results, including improved availability of critical materials, enhanced inventory levels, and increased contractual resilience, all of which support production continuity and the company’s ability to fulfill its commitments to customers and partners.
