Sudan accuses Ethiopia of targeting civilian sites.

Translated by Qiyas from كونا — Original source

Khartoum -- The Sudanese government announced on Monday that it has filed a complaint against Ethiopia before the United Nations Security Council and the African Union Peace and Security Council, accusing the latter of launching a blatant attack from its territory targeting civilian sites and infrastructure, including power stations, in several Sudanese states, resulting in civilian casualties and disruption of essential services. The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the complaints were accompanied by documents and evidence confirming that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) rebels used Ethiopian territory to launch suicide drones equipped with missiles targeting civilian sites and vital facilities within Sudan. The statement emphasized that “the use of Ethiopian territory to carry out attacks on Sudanese territory constitutes a hostile act, placing Ethiopia under its responsibilities under international law, particularly Article 2, paragraph 4, of the United Nations Charter.” In this regard, the Sudanese government called on its Ethiopian counterpart to halt what it described as “hostile acts,” and urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in holding the RSF accountable and applying international law to the Ethiopian government.
