Kuwait City, 31 October (KUNA) – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that the urological surgery unit at Adan Hospital successfully performed a precise reconstructive procedure on the lower part of the patient’s right ureter using the appendix via laparoscopic surgery, employing an advanced technique with limited global application.
In a statement, the ministry said the operation was carried out on a Kuwaiti citizen in her twenties who suffered from a complex stricture in the lower segment of her right ureter. The patient was discharged from the hospital on the third postoperative day in good health.
The procedure was led by Consultant Urological Surgeon Dr. Ahmed Harraz and Dr. Faisal Al-Hajeri, with the assistance of Dr. Ali Al-Mu’min.
