Kuwait City, Oct 31 (KUNA) – Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailan, Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, and Social Affairs, announced today on Saturday the qualification of 300 Kuwaiti youth in three modern technical specialties, with 100 students per specialty, to support the cooperative sector, in collaboration with the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET).
Minister Al-Huwailan stated in a statement to KUNA that the joint cooperation with PAAET has resulted in the enrollment of this new cohort to meet labor market needs. She specified that the specialties are a technical diploma in “Smart Building Systems,” a technical diploma in “Mechatronics,” and a technical diploma in “Sustainability.”
She clarified that this marks the beginning of the first program to qualify workers in the cooperative sector, noting that it represents a qualitative leap in training national Kuwaiti labor in modern technical specialties over a two-year period, during which students will earn a diploma degree.
Minister Al-Huwailan commended the efforts of Dr. Hassan Al-Fajam, Director General of PAAET, in establishing this cooperation to support the cooperative sector. She explained that this step is part of the Ministry’s strategy to enhance the policy of “Kuwaitization,” link educational outputs to labor market needs, and open new career prospects for Kuwaiti youth to work in cooperative societies and technical fields.
She stressed that true investment in Kuwaiti youth begins with qualifying them in required specialties, affirming the continuation of cooperation with PAAET to develop national competencies and enhance employment opportunities, thereby contributing to raising the efficiency of the cooperative sector and achieving sustainability in its operations.
