Moscow, October 31 (KUNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on regional and international developments, with a focus on regional security issues. The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a press statement on Saturday that the meeting took place yesterday in Atlanta, United States, on the sidelines of the Group of Twenty (G20) foreign ministers’ meeting. It added that the two ministers exchanged views on the international agenda, emphasizing regional security matters. The ministry noted that the discussions also covered bilateral relations and key regional developments, particularly the escalation in Yemen, ongoing threats to maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab, and efforts to enhance regional security and consolidate stability. The meeting comes as both ministers participate in the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting hosted in Atlanta on October 30 and 31 to discuss a number of international issues, including geopolitical developments, maritime security, energy and food security, global trade, and supply chains. Preparations are expected to continue during the ministerial meetings ahead of the G20 leaders’ summit scheduled to be held in Miami, United States, in December. (End) Dan / T.M.A
