Washington, Oct 30 (KUNA) — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Brad Cooper affirmed that forces under his command are continuing their missions, highlighting ongoing coordination with partners and relevant entities to achieve desired objectives. In a video posted on CENTCOM’s X (formerly Twitter) account, Cooper said, “Earlier this week, I met with more than 50,000 soldiers and military personnel who support our operations across the Middle East, including our mission in the Strait of Hormuz.” He added, “While flying over the strait, I saw dozens of commercial vessels of various types—cargo ships, crude oil tankers, and liquefied natural gas carriers. I also saw our U.S. military assets in the air and at sea, including squadrons of advanced maritime unmanned aerial systems conducting patrols to bolster our defensive posture.” Cooper emphasized, “I saw no sign of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Those who have for decades conducted patrols in the Strait of Hormuz and its surrounding waters, engaging in harassment, threats, and the arbitrary detention of commercial vessels, were not present there.” He stressed that U.S. forces “remain at peak readiness and continue their presence to ensure that all major navigation routes in the Strait of Hormuz remain open and secure.” Cooper noted that U.S. forces had “achieved a significant milestone,” adding that they had helped partners export more than 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil since the summer. He said, “U.S. forces have intensely dedicated their efforts to achieving this goal, in coordination with our regional partners, other U.S. government entities, and the maritime shipping sector.” He also pointed out that “at the same time, we have prevented Iran from exporting any oil thanks to the strict sanctions imposed on Iranian ports.” He noted that CENTCOM “continues to provide coordinated protection for commercial vessels while strictly enforcing the existing sanctions.” (End) R.S.R. / M.A.H.A.
