Moscow, October 30 (KUNA) -- Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak warned today, Friday, of the repercussions of ongoing Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil and refining facilities, particularly regarding diesel fuel supplies to global markets. According to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, Novak said that Ukraine had resumed its attacks on Russian oil refineries after a period of pause, recently targeting three oil refineries and a gas and chemical complex.

In a related development, the agency quoted Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov as reiterating that Russia had repeatedly opposed a ceasefire aimed at giving Ukraine time to regroup, stressing that Moscow would continue what it calls its “special military operation” to deprive Kyiv of the ability to “attack us.” Peskov clarified that the decision to resume trilateral negotiations on Ukraine does not include any restrictions on combat operations, and confirmed that there are no difficulties in reaching an agreement on the date for these talks. He added that Moscow does not intend to raise the issue of Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries during the negotiations scheduled to take place soon in the United Arab Emirates. Peskov emphasized that Ukrainian strikes on these facilities would not hinder the trilateral talks on Ukraine.

These developments come amid mutual accusations between Moscow and Kyiv over targeting energy infrastructure. Russia accuses Ukraine of launching attacks on Russian oil refineries, while Kyiv maintains that targeting Russian energy facilities is in response to ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Earlier today, the Ukrainian defense industry company Fire Point announced that Ukrainian drones had targeted the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region, confirming damage within the facility.

It is recalled that U.S. President Donald Trump announced earlier this month that he had held a “very constructive” phone call with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, regarding the supply of Russian diesel to the American and global markets, describing such an agreement as a “huge and very important announcement” for lowering diesel prices in the near future.
