Qatar's Prime Minister Discusses Regional Developments with UK Foreign Secretary

Doha, October 29 (KUNA) -- Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks today with British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband on the latest regional developments. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the discussion took place during a phone call between the two sides, during which they reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to support and strengthen them, as well as the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region. The statement quoted Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman as reaffirming, during the call, Qatar’s support for all diplomatic efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving a solution that ensures freedom of maritime navigation and paves the way for a comprehensive agreement that secures lasting peace in the region.
