Aden, October 29 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Thursday the execution of 982 precise strike operations against Houthi militia positions and movements during the past 24 hours, as part of the ongoing “Fajr al-Yemen” operation that began on October 5.
In a statement, Colonel Majid al-Nazili, official spokesperson for the Armed Forces, said the operations neutralized 324 Houthi militia leaders and fighters, and destroyed or damaged 108 vehicles, armored cars, and medium and heavy weapons.
He noted that the strikes were carried out using combat aircraft, drones, field artillery, rocket launchers, and targeted military reinforcements, command and control centers, field commanders, sniper positions, firing sources, and militia supply lines.
He added that the Armed Forces and the Popular Resistance continued to counter Houthi militia advances in Ta’iz Governorate, thwarting their attempts to regroup and consolidating field gains with air and artillery support.
He pointed out that Armed Forces units continued their operations on the eastern fronts of the capital, Sana’a, as well as in the governorates of Al-Jawf, Marib, and Al-Bayda, and on the southern and southwestern fronts, targeting militia movements, fortifications, gatherings, and armed vehicles.
He affirmed that military operations continued in tandem with the clearance of mines and explosive devices planted by the militia, which pose a threat to civilian lives, emphasizing the Armed Forces’ commitment to the rules of international humanitarian law and the adoption of necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian objects.
