Kuwait Institute of Medical Specialties Participates in the International Medical Education Leaders Forum in Canada

Kuwait – The Kuwait Institute of Medical Specialties participated in the International Medical Education Leaders Forum, held as part of the International Conference on Medical Education in Ottawa, the Canadian capital, organized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The Ministry of Health said in a press release on Wednesday that the forum brought together a select group of academic leaders and medical education experts from around the world, with the Institute represented by Assistant Secretary-General for Specialty Colleges Dr. Abdullah Rajab. The participants discussed the key challenges facing academic institutions involved in medical education and training, reviewing solutions and initiatives aimed at developing the specialty training system and enhancing the quality of training programs in line with the latest global standards and practices. The Ministry noted that the Institute’s participation aims to strengthen international cooperation and exchange of expertise with global academic institutions, and to benefit from pioneering experiences in developing board and fellowship specialty programs, thereby contributing to the preparation of qualified medical personnel and supporting the development of Kuwait’s healthcare system. The Kuwait Institute of Medical Specialties has held institutional academic accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada since 2017. (End) M.N.M. / K.D.A.
