Kuwait City – Ali Ould Ahmed, the Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to Kuwait, expressed his country’s aspiration to benefit from Kuwaiti humanitarian expertise in supporting the most vulnerable communities and developing projects that provide essential services to the population. Ambassador Ould Ahmed emphasized to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), following his meeting with Khaled Al-Mughams, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, at the society’s headquarters on Wednesday, the importance of strengthening humanitarian cooperation between the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and the Malian Red Cross to implement relief and development projects that help meet the needs of the population and improve their living conditions, particularly in the fields of providing safe drinking water and health services.

He pointed out that one of the most pressing humanitarian needs in Mali is the implementation of projects to provide safe drinking water, given the desert nature of large parts of the country, as well as the need to enhance medical and health services, especially in remote areas lacking hospitals and health centers. He added that cooperation with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society offers an opportunity to assess field needs and prioritize development and relief projects that can be implemented to improve the level of basic services and alleviate the suffering of the population, praising the humanitarian and relief role played by Kuwait around the world and the assistance it provides to those affected by crises and disasters.

For his part, Al-Mughams, in a similar statement to KUNA, affirmed the society’s commitment to exploring partnership opportunities with the Malian Red Cross and studying the implementation of humanitarian and development projects that respond to the basic needs of the population and contribute to improving their living conditions. He said the meeting discussed areas of joint cooperation and ways to develop humanitarian work, with a focus on priority projects that can have a positive impact on the lives of the most vulnerable groups in Mali. He clarified that the society is keen to study sustainable development initiatives that go beyond immediate aid to long-term projects that enhance the capacity of local communities to face humanitarian challenges and improve the quality of life, emphasizing the society’s continued efforts to build bridges of cooperation with humanitarian partners, exchange expertise, and coordinate jointly.
