(Foreign Ministry) Iranian Ambassador Hands Over Protest Note Regarding Statement by Embassy Containing Overt Interference in Kuwait's Internal Affairs

Kuwait – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Hamad Al-Mushaan, today Wednesday summoned the Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait, Mohammad Toutounji, to deliver a protest note regarding a statement issued by his embassy in Kuwait, which contained blatant interference in Kuwait’s internal affairs and infringed upon its sovereignty and the independence of its judicial authority, in clear violation of international laws and norms. According to a statement issued by the ministry, the Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated Kuwait’s strong rejection and condemnation of any interference in judicial rulings issued by its national courts, emphasizing the necessity for the Iranian side to comply with international law and the UN Charter, particularly the principles of good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of states, as well as the provisions of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
